Hi. My name is Barry Spencer and I am the founder of Zorap Inc. Zorap is a cool technology that allows people to socialize, in real-time, with their social networks.
I have been in the software world for a long time - in fact, I started programming computers in 1972 on a DEC PDP-something which was connected via acoustic coupler to a teletype in my school.
After post-high school gigs at Raytheon and Commercial Union Insurance, I became an early employee at Lotus Development Corporation. At Lotus, I was a software architect for Lotus 1-2-3 and Lotus Symphony.
After Lotus, I developed "guts" for Quattro Pro for Windows at Borland - and then started a small company called "Cool Software Technology", and then another company called "Reality Fusion".
Reality Fusion developed and marketed immersive video interaction technology. It was a great ride. I wrote a detailed account of my experiences as the founder of Reality Fusion in a blog, that is here.
Since 1997, I have created 5 different Internet conferencing services including; SeeSaw, TeamView, CameraCafe, VidiTel and Festoon. I also developed an architecture for multimedia web conferencing, which was named RTCX (for Real Time Communications Exchange). This platform was sold by Santa Cruz Networks, and was the foundation for a variety of other services such as CloudMeeting.
With that as my background, Zorap is a logical next stop for me. Zorap combines multipoint video conferencing, with live media sharing - in a form factor which allows it to embedded in social networks and blogs - other places as well.
